3D Shapes
3D shapes have three dimensions: length, width, and height (or depth). They are solid objects you can hold.

Words to know
- face:
- A flat surface of a 3D shape.
- edge:
- A line where two faces meet.
- vertex:
- A point where edges meet.
Examples
- 1Cube: 6 square faces, 12 edges, 8 vertices.
- 2Sphere: 1 curved surface, 0 edges, 0 vertices. Like a football!
Check these
- • Do not count a curved surface as a face when your course uses face to mean flat surface.
- • Keep every number, symbol, label, and unit in its correct place.
- • Show enough working to check how you reached your answer.
